Trigun is a futuristic wild west anime.  It takes the best components of both and comes out with something better.  Trigun takes place on a desert planet where every man owns a gun, and towns are mercilessly ransacked by bandits.  The most famous of these bandits is Vash the Stampede, who has the destruction of several towns to his credit.  When two agents from the Bernadelli Insurance Society come looking for Vash, they find a man that's not at all like what they expected.
